"description": "Envy\nMaya Man is an artist focused on contemporary identity culture on the internet. Her work examines dominant narratives around femininity, authenticity, and the performance of self online. In Hard Copy she examines a lawsuit between influencers Sydney Nicole Gifford and Alyssa Sheil, colloquially known as the “Sad Beige Lawsuit,” in which Gifford accused Sheil of replicating her content—from decor, to clothes, to nearly every aspect of her online persona. Each artwork is a page from an official legal document, taken directly from court filings and electronically signed by the artist. Presented as side-by-side comparisons and complete with screenshots from various social media platforms, websites, and hyperlinks, the pages fit naturally within Man’s work, even though the artifacts themselves are, in effect, stolen.\nPrints of Hard Copy are available the first month after release. Please contact hello@mayaontheinter.net to receive your print.",

"description": "Greed\nSteve Pikelny has been creating art online since 2017. Many of his largest collections are generative projects like Fake Internet Money and Dopamine Machines, but between these projects he works on wilder experiments, often focused on a financial instrument. In 2017 he released FastCashMoneyPlus, the artist’s initial coin offering, and in 2023, Money Making Opportunity, which trapped thousands of dollars in a smart contract to be distributed in a digital version of the game theory exercise ‘the pirate game’. As a generative art series with an overtly financial focus, Money Vortex sits somewhere between these parallel practices: its goal is to imbue the spectator with a spirit of abundance and wealth. Drawing from a series of popular videos and livestreams on YouTube which beckon viewers to “Try Listening For 3 Minutes, You Will Receive A Huge Amount Of Money,” and “Remove all negative blockages as you travel through the Abundance Gate and release abundance - love, wealth,” Pikelny’s works allow viewers to manifest wealth into their lives, as channeled through ambient music and hypnotic visuals. Running as live code, the vortexes can play affirmations endlessly, asking viewers to repeat the vow, “I am open to infinite wealth,” and more invocations into eternity.\n========================\nThis is not a coincidence! You were meant to find this Enter the Money Vortex to Manifest Wealth with Subliminal Reprogramming techniques. Tune In to the Millionaire Frequency and clear ALL of your Financial Blockages. This powerful Energy Session will help you attract Wealth and Abundance. Your Frequency determines your Fortune! You WILL receive a huge amount of Money.\n#BinauralBeats #MillionaireMediation #LawOfAttraction #ManifestMoney #GoldenOpportunity #CashFlowMindfulness #777Hz #888Hz #432Hz #AbundanceMindset #PositiveVibrations #SpiritualWealth #FinancialFreedom #MoneyVortex #VibrationalShift #Numisma #MiracleWindfall #LotteryJackpotWInner\nControls:\n[Click]: Toggle sound\n\"a\": Affirmation toggle\n\"s\": Sponsored Content toggle\n\"h\": Hide/Display mantra\n\"1\": Speed: slow\n\"2\": Speed: normal\n\"3\": Speed: fast\n\"4\": Speed: very fast\n\"5\": Speed: dangerously fast\n\"0\": Speed: paused\n\"H\": Always display mantra\n\"r\": Reset all controls\n\"←\": Switch affirmation voice\n\"→\": Switch affirmation voice\n\"↑\": Increase affirmation speed\n\"↓\": Decrease affirmation speed",

"description": "Wrath\nWhen it comes to her GIF artworks, Lorna Mills draws material from many different sources. It’s not uncommon to see pornography, animal videos, and all other manner of internet eye candy cut out and transposed in her work against a bright colored background. In Diatriber, source material comes from weapons demonstrations on ballistic gel dummies posted to YouTube. In these videos, a weapon—be it a sword, gun, axe, or otherwise—is used, typically by a man, with full force against a dummy. The dummies are made to mimic human flesh in order to accurately test the weapon, and for the sake of effect, they often spurt fake blood. When this concoction comes into contact with the right weapon at the right speed, the result is a flurry of particles of blood, gel, and fake bone, meticulously identified and sculpted frame by frame in Mills’ hand-crafted style. Mills has described Diatriber as a “giant temper tantrum,” and in viewing the carnage, the viewer can’t help but take part.",

"description": "Sloth\nDamjanski is an artist who respects the institution of sleep. In 2024 he released the virtual exhibition and performance Sleepover, where viewers entered a dreamlike digital space and were invited to take a 30-minute nap; in 2023, there was the AR app Napster, a peer-to-peer nap-sharing service to find places for Damjanski to take a nap. Users could use their camera to select a place for the artist to nap and share it with him. A sleeping 3D model of Damjanski would then appear at that location. With Napster 24, the artist performs sleep yet again, but this time in person instead of virtually. Each artwork in the Napster 24 series is a reflection of a nap taken by Damjanski during a 24-hour period, beginning at 12 AM Eastern Daylight Time on August 8th, 2025. Nap data was recorded through a wearable sleep tracker, and used as the seed to generate the visuals of the artwork. While the abstract visuals appear bright, the data beneath them represents the fractured sleep schedule induced by internet use—either by choice, by the requirement of remote work, or otherwise. This fractured schedule was lived first-hand by the artist both during the recording period, and beyond.",

"description": "Lust\nIn 2013 Ann Hirsch published an e-book which was swiftly banned from the iTunes store. Twelve chronicled the artist’s online relationship with a 27-year-old-man, taking place years earlier when she was 12. The book, now available in print, contains AOL chat logs reconstructed from the artist’s memory, including explicitly sexual conversation. Now Hirsch is re-connecting with her younger self through the use of AI. Beginning with A(nn)i—an AI personality created by the artist based on her younger self, originally made to create drawings from her imagination—now A(nn)i turns outward, to her crushes. Due to the content limits of ChatGPT, these crushes have to be imaginary, so her affections are scattered between AI boys, girls, and non-human entities, all expressed through zine pages, diary entries, and collages. Just as Hirsch is constrained by her memory, A(nn)i is constrained by these technical limitations, making the Phantom Obsessions the closest that she can get to wanting another person. Due to these technical repressions, A(nn)i’s feelings are far from a fiery lust, but they are the most she is capable of given the constraints of the system she exists within.",

"description": "Gluttony\nThe artist duo Dadabots has been using artificial intelligence to create music since 2012. What initially began with music remix bots evolved into a sprawling practice, including 24/7 livestreams of newly generated music across multiple genres. Having generated millions of hours of music, the duo has created more music than could ever possibly be created by a completely human band. In Phat Phonk, the pair turns the dial to Phonk, the storied hip-hop subgenre which saw a revival on TikTok in 2020. Separated into 50 fragments, Phat Phonk is a mixtape with indulgent driving bass and aggressive percussion—a staple of the genre. Each artwork shows a preview of the full sound, but must be downloaded in order to be heard in their entirety. Despite their relatively short runtime, each fragment takes up between 89GB-29TB of hardware space, making the entire 25-minute mixtape incredibly resource-intensive for a listener to assemble.\nPhat Phonk is delivered to listeners with the following warning from the artist:\n((SURGEON GENERAL WARNING)) HAZARDOUS GORGING LEADS TO BLOAT, POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION. "description": "Pride\nSHL0MS’ artworks often revolve around the absence of something rather than its presence. In the 2022 work $CAR, they destroyed a Lamborghini and auctioned off the scans of its parts. Since then they’ve made art in the form of blank pages, empty tokens, and the negative space created when posting the right text characters on X. In 𝚅𝙰𝙽𝙸𝚃𝙸𝙴𝚂 , SHL0MS displaces another icon: the celebrity mirror selfie.\nEach selfie is digitally reconstructed to remove the celebrity themselves while restoring the space they occupy with photorealistic fidelity. The result is a modified readymade which decontextualizes an image that was previously loaded with cultural signifiers, embodied in the celebrity, in order to refocus attention on their banal (and oftentimes quietly absurd) surroundings.\nThese modified images and their precursors are combined into a video piece in which the celebrity subject, often posing bizarrely or self-hypersexualized, flickers disjointedly back into the frame in a strobing pattern encoding their legal name. The number of frames in each piece is defined by the subject's Instagram following, and the collection is subsequently ranked linearly by duration, linking each individual's relative online value to the runtime of the piece.\nIn SHL0MS’ work, pride is embodied both within each celebrity’s curated image, as well as through the viewer’s own investment in the status their image represents. With the celebrity removed, the work asks the audience to notice what they project into the void: desire, derision, aspiration, complicity. The mirror still reflects, but now all that appears is the spectator’s relationship to the celebrity complex itself.",
