"description": "“Material World Knight: Bardo Tunnel” is a video loop rendered from within Lu Yang’s computer game “The Great Adventure of Material World.” This capture is a scene from the game featuring avatars lining a carpeted path to a tunnel of light. The main game character, Material World Knight, completes quests and battles enemies together with other characters drawn from the artist’s earlier works, while undergoing multiple identity transformations as the game moves beyond tropes of popular manga culture to explore the control of identity liberated from the rigid confines of nationality, gender, and sexuality."

"text": "Alice Scope\nOriginally from Ukraine, Alice Scope is a curator and educator based in Los Angeles who is interested in topics of potential future adaptations, bodies on the internet, blockchain, and postgenderism. In 2016, she founded the first Experimental Art Center AkT in Kyiv, Ukraine, to provide a supportive space for young Ukrainian artists. It was also the first center in Ukraine to showcase art in virtual reality for a broad audience. Operations at the center were interrupted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Currently, Alice Scope is a curator at Vellum LA, a women-led NFT gallery for digital art, where she has worked with artists like the award-winning experiential artist duo Operator; trailblazing Afro-Caribbean artist IX Shells, the highest-selling female artist in NFTs; and Keiken, an international art collective that creates speculative worlds through gaming, XR, blockchain and performance, and more.\nBarry Threw\nBarry Threw cultivates forward-looking, impactful, boundary-blurring projects integrating culture and technology. He drifts between roles, collaborating as an executive, curator, technologist, designer, community organizer, cultural producer, and strategist. He is currently the Executive and Artistic Director of Gray Area — a San Francisco non-profit cultural incubator applying antidisciplinary collaboration — integrating art, technology, science, and the humanities — towards a more sustainable and equitable future. He is also a founding partner at Fabricatorz — a distributed technology studio for cultural projects with nodes in Hong Kong, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Lisbon."
